The German company Rawlemon believes they have found a new and more effective way to channel solar energy - and do so with a beautiful, innovative design.
By creating a spherical solar energy-generator rather than a flat panel, this orb both concentrates solar power more effectively, and has the ability to track sunlight throughout the day. The sphere can track both sunlight and moonlight, and concentrate it up to 10,000 times.
The inventor, André Broessel, is still in the process of raising funds, so this design is not yet available on the market. Ultimately, he would like to incorporate these transparent orbs into city architecture, where it has the potential to greatly expand the use of solar-generated power.
